Discipleship
A fundamental Methodist belief is that a good relationship with God requires a life of learning, a life of “discipleship”. We offer multiple opportunities to explore our faith in ongoing and seasonal programs for small groups. These include Sunday School, vacation bible school, bible study groups, discipleship small groups, summer camps and Lenten table fellowships. Our library is also an excellent resource with suggested readings on a number of topics.

Classes for all ages are offered on Sunday throughout the school year. After children's moment, children from kindergarten to 6th grade go to Sunday School classes during the Worship Service. Here they learn about bible stories using multiple approaches like cooking, games, art and science. Infant care is available during this time and a special program for toddlers. On communion Sundays, students 4th grade and above stay in the Worship service and the younger children have a special class about Worship. Our older students and adults have classes after church from 11:30AM to 12:30PM. Older Youth have their own Sunday School group meeting as well as a confirmation series to prepare youth to join the church. Youth classes are designed to take the foundation of our church beliefs into the lives they live with emphasis on who they want to become. We also emphasis social support within this group. For more on youth, see their page. Additionally, multiple adult classes are offered throughout the year that span a variety of topics. Recently, true hospitality, parenting, why innocents suffer, prayer have all been explored with the attitude that we may not have the answers, but together we can move forward to where God wants us to be. VBS 2009 has begun on August 2nd thru the 6th from 6:30 – 8: 00PM . The theme for this year is CAMP EDGE, this is not your average stroll through the woods. CAMP EDGE is an action-packed adrenaline-filled expedition to an Extreme Adventure Camp that teaches kids that their strength and might comes from GOD. During our week at CAMP EDGE we will take on a new pledge every evening, we will discuss how GOD stays closeto us, how he guides us, how he teaches and loves us and sends us outand where we will go. Last year at VBS 2008, we had were "Under Construction: A habitat for Humanity Vacation Bible School" As a compliment to our work with Habitat for Humanity we used a Habitat VBS. The VBS taught our children to share Christian faith through service to the church and to the community beyond the church. The children made tool boxes for use on the worksites as well as a quilt for our Habitat family.
